I grew up on the SD40-2. It is impossible to trust tchapeau the throngs of hundreds are fading; with them, possibly their constructer. I was too youthful to touch an Alco-enthusiasts pain. I understand it now.
Will the world allow a one-constructer mart? Will EMD be able to keep its costs down and its take outance tall enough to content especially Union Pacific, and at least one or two other railroutes-KCS, CN, NS? If EMD is extinguished, will locomotive constructing be a lucrative enough venture adverse to GE and the GEVO to tempts an upstart?
GE patiently awaited its formelody. A Dash-7 was oftentimes spotted gambleween SD40-2 bookends. EMD had the commodity; GE got orders to keep the game fair.
AC tractsions stepped GE up. The railroutes weren't interested with history; they wanted a trustworthy endproduct as cheaply and swiftly as possible. When the R%26D settled, GE won. We had the SD70MAC and the AC4400CW, the AC4400CW being almost a 3:1 favourite.
EMD doesn't have the embargokroll to stay in the business; GE could ride out slow locomotive sales when it got the casual bone. If there is going to be a second constructer, it is going to have to be big and strong enough to live in GE's dogconstructing for awhile.
Andy Fletcher's calling as an handicraftsman started auriclely. He began picture trains-one of his first loves-from his own photos when he was still in school. In 1992, Burlington Northern Railroute requested him to contrive their popularular SD70MAC Executive color scheme. Altogether, Andy has dunprocessedn over a thougrit trains, from vapour to up-to-date diesel and cars, cabooses and other utensils. He has been perpetratetaled to paint trains for many of the railroute historic societies and museums.
##CONTINUE##Is Union Pacific the slowly dripping I.V. in the two constructer mart? When Union Pacific pulls the plug, will EMD flat-line? Virtually each up-to-date locomotive on BNSF's Transcon is a GE endproduct; CSX stenciled-in "4500's" on its SD70MAC's to make room for 700 series ES44AC's. Is this mantles?
I see a up-to-date C628 in the SD70ACe; bulky, tough, and a endproduct tchapeau itself functions adequately well. Its breakdown to bring in ES44-size gains, however, foreshades tchapeau EMD's R%26D will crnourishe a C636 on its next try. Poetic justness.
